Cache Usage

This section describes how to use the cache function in the DataPlugInForEclipseTrader.
Open the menu Edit > Preferences
to open the Eclipse Trader Preferences Page, then select the Plugins > Equity Market Data

This section uses the following elements:

1. Whether to use cache

• Cache vs No Cache
  If the cache function is enabled, all the data files in the folder Data Files Location will be processed only one time, and processed information will be stored in the database, this will be saving lots of time when opening a security's chart after the first time.
  If the cache function is not enabled, every time the security chart is opened, all the data files in the folder Data Files Location will be processed.

2. Database Settings

If the cache function is enabled, the Database Settings will work. There are 2 database type supported this is plugin, JavaDB and Mysql, the default one is JavaDB. You can configure the database connection parameters here to let the data be stored in the database as the cache.

3. Registeration Link

Click the link Sign Up for Equity Market Data data subscription, a web page will be open where you can register an account of Equity Market Data.

Click the link Download Sample Files from Equity Market Data web site, a web page will be open where you can download the Equity Market Data sample files.

4. Parameters Explanation

Parameters	Description
Data Files Location	From where to load the Equity Market Data data files
Use Database Cache for Data	Whether to enable the Database Cache function
Processed Files Location	where to store the Equity Market Data files after processing the files in the Data Files Location
Load 30 minute Data	Whether to process the 30 minute info of the Equity Market Data files

Parameters	Description
DB Type	select JavaDB or Mysql
Login	Login name of the database
Password	Password of the database
Server	Server address (this only works for Mysql)
Port	Server port (this only works for Mysql)
Database	Database instance name
Additional parameters	Additional parameters (this only works for Mysql)
DB Root Path	JavaDB's root path (this only works for JavaDB)
