How to work in Eclipse Trader
This section describes how to use DataPlugInForEclipseTrader work
in Eclipse Trader
This section only focuses on the usage of DataPlugInForEclipseTrader in
Eclipse Trader, for the usage of Eclipse Trader, please refer the help
of Eclipse
Trader
1 Creating a security with Equity Market Data Feed
- On the main menu bar, click File > New > Security.
The New Security wizard opens.

- In the Code field, type the unique code for the
security, In the Description field, type a description for your
new security (the company's name for example), and select the
(optional) currency.

- Click Next to setup the realtime quote feeds.
- Select the Equity Market Data as the realtime quotes for the new security.
- In the Symbol fields, type the symbol used by the
Equity Market Data to identify the security. If these fields are left
blank, the Code field from the first page is used.

- (Optional) Click Next to setup the level II quote
feeds.
- Select the source that provides the level II view for the new
security.
- (Optional) Click Next to setup the historical chart
feed.
- Select the Equity Market Data as the historical chart data for the new security.

- (Optional) Click Next to setup the intraday chart build
options.
- Select Enable automatic build if you want that
EclipseTrader builds the intradat charts automatically while
downloading the realtime quotes. If disabled, the intraday charts are
provided by the historical charts data source, if available.
- Set the begin and end time, and the days of the week to
collect the data.
- Set how many days you want to keep in the intraday charts in
the Keep (days) field.
- Click Finish. The new security is listed in the
securities view.

Tip: The data feed plugins can provide additional
wizards with a list of the available securities that do not require to
enter all data manually. These wizards appears in the File >
New menu on the main menu bar.
2 Edit a security with Equity Market Data Feed
- Right click a security in the securities view, click Switch
History Feed to Equity Market Data.

- Right click a security in the securities view, click Change
> History Feed.

The Feed Dialog will be open, change the Feed to Equity Market Data

- Right click a security in the securities view, click Properties,
in the opened Properties Dialog, change the History Feed to Equity Market Data

- The above steps are only show the various approaches for
History Feed, for the Quote Feed, the steps are similar.
3 Load daily data into database cache manually
Normally, when you first time open a security with Equity Market Data as Feed,
if the database cache function is enabled, all the data files will be processed and stored in the database cache
automatically. But if you want to process the data files into database manually, this function can help you.
- Right click in the securities view, click Load End of Day Files to Database.

4 Load hourly data into database cache manually
Normally, when you first time open a security with Equity Market Data as Feed,
if the database cache function is enabled, all the data files will be processed and stored in the database cache
automatically. But if you want to process the data files into database manually, this function can help you.
- Right click in the securities view, click Load Bi-Hourly Files to Databases.
